May 27, 1948 ~ October 15, 2018 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Tribute

James E. Tinkham, 70, passed into glory on Monday, October 15, 2018. Jim was the son of Bertram and Dorothy (Canterbury) Tinkham. He was predeceased by his son Derek Tinkham and his nephew Eric Ruscito. He is survived by his wife Arline (Jaeger) Tinkham (married 49 years), his daughter Dianne Danielson and husband Jeff, currently of Florida, his son Micah Tinkham and wife Dawn of Kalispell, and 9 grandchildren – Annelise, Abram, and Emilie Danielson; Caleb, Clayton, Lacey, and Lydia Cole-Tinkham and Joseph and Juliana Tinkham. Also his sister Judy Ruscito and husband Steve; sister-in-law Christine Andersen and husband Mel.

Jim was a current resident of Lakeside, MT, but lived most of his life in RI and Maine. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering. He worked his entire career for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI, designing launcher systems for submarines and eventually moving into management. He received many accolades for his work there.

He was a member of Faith Covenant Church and previously an elder and Old Testament teacher in churches in RI and Maine. He loved his Lord and was pleased to serve him in this way. Jim loved his family and enjoyed walking, hiking, biking, and kayaking with his wife, as well as going to the grandchildren’s sporting events, woodworking, and watching hockey and football with his son-in-law, son, and grandsons. He loved taking Dianne and Micah and their families out to eat and he loved Christmas, because he was such a generous person. He was often laughing and joking and lifting others up. We will miss his smile, his hugs, and his teasing.

“For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Phil. 1:21
