Jimmy Ray Stineback, age 76 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023, in Montana. He was born on April 13, 1947 in Michigan City, IN to William and Frances (Kasinger) Stineback.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elva (Brockway) Stineback; son, William Stineback; daughters, Julie (Matt Roseberry) McKean and Roni Wagner; brothers, John Stineback and David (Karen) Baker; sister Debbie (Tom) Tharp; grandchildren, Whitney and Jenna Wagner, Danielle and James McKean and Aiden Stineback; great-grand daughter, Kinsley Millender and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William Stineback; mother, Frances Stineback and sister, Barbara Stineback.
Jimmy was a United States Army Veteran. He retired from Bethlehem Steel after 40+ years and was a retired firefighter for the Chesterton Fire Department. Jimmy enjoyed bowling and golf and was an avid reader. He was a softball, football and baseball coach for his kids and served as pit chief for 2 generations of racers. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be missed deeply.
Funeral Ceremony will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 7:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304 with Pastor Scott Jones officiating. A visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
