Your Hug Meant the World
Nobody else held us so tight
Or made us feel so right
No one’s eyes shined so bright with love as our mom, who is now high above.

The world lost a beloved mother, Laurine Mace, on August 16th, 2022. Laurine battled with brain cancer, but it never stopped her from giving out the best hugs and little pinches. Laurine died fighting, surrounded by her children Lory, Anthony, Andrew, Christine, James, Justin, and Jason, she called them “The Magnificent 7”. Laurine was born into a farming family, and she claimed to have learned everything she knew from her own loving parents Leo, and Frances Gates.
Laurine was a homemaker, enjoyed camping and supporting her children’s interest in every adventure, and spending time with family and friends. She also spent many years helping with baseball from Little League through Legion ball, as well as in the school district. She loved her flower boxes and decorating for the Christmas season. She was known for her kind soul, always willing to cheer kids up with kisses, hugs, and little pinches.
Laurine is survived by her children: Lory Mace and wife Nancy, Tony Mace, Andy Mace and wife Darla, Chris Schwartzman and husband Chris, James Mace and wife Tammy, Justin Mace and wife Robyn, and Jason Mace and wife Torri; 11 grandchildren: Khayden, Andrew, Ciera, Tyler, Matt, Blake, Kevin, Kyle, Braden, Lillian, and Margaret; and numerous nieces and nephews. Heroes don’t need capes and Princess’s don’t need crowns, Ardine and Laurine are proof, now rejoined on the grandest dance floor in the heavens’, living the best eternal life together once again.
