Tribute

Marlene Havens passed away on May 21, 2020.

She was born April 30, 1936 in Creston, British Columbia, Canada. She migrated to the United States where she eloped to San Francisco with Art Havens. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and sister, Monica. Marlene is survived by Art, Shawn and a host of family and friends, too numerous to name.

Marlene’s career in banking spanned five decades. She was the first woman president of the Whitefish Chamber of Commerce and instrumental in starting The Taste of Whitefish event. Her character can be summed up as caring, generous, loyal and strong.

lf she was not fixing the computer at work, hauling Shawn and his pals to a baseball field, a fishing hole or a ski run, or spoiling her grandkids (her princess and princes), then she was having a glass of red, housekeeping or gardening.

A celebration for Marlene will be held later in the summer of 2020.
