Sue Baker Merriman

Sue Baker Bros Merriman, surrounded by family passed away peacefully on April 6, 2019, in Whitefish Montana. Sue was born MPLS and lived in Hopkins, Minnesota until her final 4 months, when she moved to Whitefish for joyful times with her great grandchildren.
 
Sue attended Northrop Collegiate School, Carlton College, and the University of Minnesota. She taught special education in the Hopkins Schools. Sue shared a diversity of passions with lifelong friends; yoga, birding, hiking, gardening, wildflowers, spiritual direction, and she was an avid world traveler.
 
Sue was preceded in death by her parents Ben M. Bros and Lewellyn Baker Bros, Sue is survived by her 2 children Chris Merriman (Whitefish MT), Ben Merriman (Payson AZ.), Ben’s wife Alane, sister Nancy Jamieson, niece Cindy Jamieson, nephew Tom Jamieson, granddaughter Kathryn Rothfuss (husband Mark), great grandchildren Troy and Luke, and longtime companion Ralph Peebles.
 
We were all blessed by her passion for nature, deep love and grateful spirit.  There will be an informal family gathering in May 2019 in Minnesota. Memorials may be made to your local Audubon chapter or the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.  Austin Funeral & Cremation Services in Whitefish is caring for the family.
