Richard Joseph Page
Richard Joseph Page, age 34, died unexpectedly from a congenital heart condition, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at his home in Whitefish, Montana. Born December 14, 1982 in North Tarrytown, New York, he was the son of Joseph Page of Whitefish, Montana and Kate Nickels of Camden, Maine.
Richard graduated from Carmel High School in Carmel, New York and attended Mitchell College in New London, Connecticut. He graduated from Colorado State University in Fort Collins with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSW).
Upon leaving college, Richard worked with both young people and the senior population in his field of social work. He particularly loved working with at-risk young people, and helping them to lead productive lives.
During his time in Whitefish, Richard enjoyed working as a barista at the local Starbucks coffee shop. He was often to be found bicycling around Whitefish and the surrounding area in all seasons. With a smile on his face and a sense of joy, nothing made Richard happier than to be surrounded by people enjoying life.
Richard is survived by his mother, Kate Nickels of Camden, Maine, and his father, Joe Page, Chief of the Whitefish Fire Department, his step-mother Michele Page, his brothers, Donald Page, Camden, Maine and Guy Mason, Denver, Colorado, sister in-law Heidi Mason, niece Calla Mason, step-brother, Mateo Urquijo, Edinburgh, Scotland, and foster sister, Tamara Johnson, Bronx, New York.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 21st, at the Glacier Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1515 Trumble Creek Road, in Kalispell, Montana.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to Safety Harbor Kids, Box 14, Malibu, CA 90265 www.safetyharborkids.org enriching the lives of orphans, foster and homeless children through education in areas of College, Career and the Arts.
